YouTube Monetization Checker
Check if a YouTube channel or video is monetized and generating ad revenue. Great for analyzing competitors and potential niches.
How YouTube Monetization Works
The YouTube Partner Program (YPP) allows creators to monetize their content on YouTube. When a channel is accepted into YPP, YouTube places advertisements before, during, and after their videos. The revenue generated from these ads is split between YouTube (45%) and the creator (55%).
Knowing if a competitor channel is monetized helps you validate a niche. If you see many monetized channels in a specific topic, it means advertisers are willing to pay for that audience, making it a viable business opportunity for new creators.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does this tool check monetization?
Our tool analyzes the public metadata embedded in YouTube pages. When a channel is in the YPP, YouTube's source code contains specific flags indicating monetization status that our system can detect.
I see ads on a video, does that mean it's monetized?
Not necessarily! In 2020, YouTube updated its Terms of Service to state they have the right to monetize all content on the platform, even channels not in the YouTube Partner Program. This means ads might play, but the creator isn't getting paid.
Why might a channel with 1M subs be unmonetized?
Large channels can be demonetized for policy violations, copyright strikes, or "reused content" flags. Alternatively, corporate channels or artists might simply choose to turn off monetization on their videos.
